Welcome back everyone we hope you had a lovely Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
This week the children have been very busy learning about our new topic Winter. All of the classroom activities have been based on a Winter theme. On the Maths table we have been playing a snowman game, where the children take turns throwing dice to place the correct amount of buttons on the snowman's body.
In the Art Area we have been painting winter trees and snowmen. The children have painted some lovely representational pictures which we will display in the coming week. We have been making snowman collages, where we have been encouraging the children to take items from the art trolley to make their snowmen as individual as possible.
On Wednesday we went on our winter walk around the school grounds. We looked at the different signs of winter.
I have posted the video we took of the children during our winter walk below this page. I know you will enjoy watching the video with your child, please ask your child if he/she can retell what is happening in the film.
As the weather has been very cold this week, the children have not had many opportunities to play in our garden. Instead they have played on the train and climbing frame in the main school playground which the children have really enjoyed. (Please could you make sure your child has their hat, scarf and gloves named, as some of the children have lost their belongings due to them not having names on).
As you are aware Mrs Coughlan has been off school this week, we look forward to seeing her next week when we hope she is feeling much better.
